Ken Dilday, Fire Chief
Ken was first employed by the Town Of Ahoskie from 1977 - 1978 at the Town Wastewater Plant. Ken then returned to the Town on January 15,1981 to present.
In 1981 Ken was sworn in as a police officer receiving his Basic Law enforcement Training at the Justice Academy in Salamburg, N.C. Ken advanced to the rank of patrol Sergeant and was a member of the SWAT team.
In July of 1987 Ken was appointed Assistant Fire Chief and in December 1987 Ken was appointed Fire Chief.
Ken has been in the fire service for thirty (30) years, starting his career as a Junior member and Volunteer Firemen in 1975 with the Town Of Ahoskie.
Ken is certified as a North Carolina Firefighter Level II, a Level II Fire Instructor, Fire & Life Safety Educator Level I, and Fire Prevention Inspector.
Ken is a member of the North Carolina State Firemen Association and the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs.
Ken is currently serving on the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission.
Ken is Past President of the North Carolina Firemen Association and Past President of the Hertford County Firefighters Association.
He is also past director to the National Volunteer Fire Council for North Carolina, past board member of the Eastern Carolina Firefighter Association, and past board member of Ridgecroft School Board.
Ken and his wife Cyndy have two sons. Ken likes watching baseball and hunting.
